Blower Door Simulator

The TEC Blower Door Simulator is a software training aid that helps trainers demonstrate how to perform a blower door test without having to physically set up a blower door system. The Blower Door Simulator includes a virtual Model 3 Minneapolis Blower Door and DG-700 Pressure and Flow Gauge that can be used to perform a blower door test on a virtual house. Test conditions such as building airtightness, indoor/outdoor temperatures, building style and wind levels can be set to simulate a variety of testing scenarios. The program also includes a RESNET One-Point Test Calculator so that the user can see the effects of temperature and baseline pressure corrections on overall test results using the RESNET test procedure.

The DG-1000 Connect Software is a training and quality assurance tool that allows users to project a virtual image of a DG-1000 Pressure and Flow Gauge on a computer monitor/projector screen.  The functions and modes of the DG-1000 gauge, including the new Tubing Assistant feature, are operable by mouse clicks on the virtual gauge keypad, making it an ideal training aid for duct and envelope training programs. When used along with screen-sharing programs, DG-1000 Connect can be used for both QA activities and to provide on-site technical support.

DG-700 Connect software is a training and quality assurance (QA) tool that allows users to project a virtual image of one or more connected DG-700 digital pressure gauges on a computer monitor/projector screen. The functions and modes of the DG-700 gauge are operable by mouse clicks on the virtual gauge keypad, making it an ideal training aid for duct and envelope training programs. TEC Auto Test

TEC Auto Test is an automated building and duct system airtightness testing app for mobile devices. The TEC Auto Test app allows the user to wirelessly connect with a DG-1000 or DG-700 pressure gauge to conduct an automated airtightness test of a building or duct system. The app will collect the required test data from the connected gauge (and flow device), and along with manually entered building and customer information, calculate and display test results. The app creates PDF test reports that can be viewed and shared using email or cloud sharing apps installed on the mobile device (e.g. Dropbox, Google Drive). In addition, project files can be geotagged using location services on your mobile device.

The application is designed to be used exclusively with testing equipment manufactured by The Energy Conservatory (TEC). The airtightness test standards supported by this version of the app include three building envelope test standards: RESNET 380 One-Point standard, ASTM E779 Multi-Point standard, and CGSB 149.10 Multi-Point standard (both with and without EnerGuide modifications); and one duct leakage test standard: RESNET 380 Total Duct Leakage standard.

TEC Gauge is TEC’s free mobile app that provides wireless control and display of DG-1000, DG-700 and DG-500 Pressure and Flow Gauges. TEC Gauge’s capture feature lets you store and share readings from your gauge. This app connects to the gauge through a WiFi network (DG-700 and DG-500 gauges require a TEC WiFi Link). This app is available for iOS and Android mobile devices. Features Easy to use cruise control for the blower door fan and Duct Blaster fan. Baseline feature for airtightness evaluation. Displays airflow values for all TEC devices. Choice of code compliance results right on the screen, including ACH50, Flow@25, 50 and 75 Pa, and flow per 100 square feet. Choice of airflow units (CFM, l/s and m3/h) Two channel pressure display is perfect for combustion safety testing. Capture feature allows for storage and sharing of readings from the TEC gauge. Captured readings can be labeled, sorted and sharing using file sharing apps on the mobile device. Capture readings can be shared in either text or xml formats. There is also a Windows-based version of this app that has data logging capabilities.

TECLOG4 is designed to monitor and store data from up to 16 DG-1000’s, DG-700’s, DG-500’s or APT’s devices, and to provide computerized control of multiple Minneapolis Blower Door fans.

Data connections can either be wired using CAT5 cable, or wireless using the DG-1000 or TEC WiFi Links (when used with a DG-700 or DG-500) along with a router.

TECLOG4 is the only software available that lets you see and track real-time building pressure and fan flow measurements, all possible because of our unique and easy-to-use graphical interface. During air leakage tests, TECLOG4’s electronic averaging of multiple building envelope pressures integrated with a Master Cruise Control makes computerized control of multiple blower doors a snap. Users can quickly select time periods to use in air tightness test results, and review and print test results using built-in calculation and reporting features, including a USACE compliant report. TECLOG4 makes it easy to configure data logging features including sampling rates, auto-zero intervals, pressure channel types and graph display options.

In order for the digital gauge to communicate with your computer using a USB port, drivers must be installed.   You will know if the drivers have not been installed when you plug in the digital gauge into your computer, run TECTITE and you see a message that says that the gauge is not communcating with TECTITE.   The driver file needs to be installed anytime you change computers. This driver is compatible the following versions of Windows: 7, 8, 8.1 and 10.

ZPD Calculation Utility

The Zone Pressure Diagnostics (ZPD) Calculation Utility provides a way to estimate the leakage from one zone to another.   It can help to prioritize air sealing activities.   The ZPD Calculation Utility uses Minneapolis Blower Door tests taken with the house closed with zone pressure taps to the garage, the attic or the crawlspace.   An opening is then made to the suspected zone, such as opening a door, and then running the Blower Door test again and noting changes in the zone pressures.
